Get to Know Green People

As humans we are inquisitive and resourceful creatures, when we need something and can’t find it, we’ll create it ourselves. That’s exactly what happened for Charlotte Vøht in 1994. Her daughter Sandra suffered multiple skin allergies along with eczema, and although Charlotte tried to find skin care products made with natural ingredients that would be gentle on her daughter’s skin, but it turns out most cosmetics found on the high street contained chemicals – they only needed to have less than 1% of natural or organic ingredients to be labelled ‘natural’.

This just wasn’t acceptable for Charlotte, so she created her own natural and organic creams and salves that her daughter could use without her skin getting irritated – and they worked so well she wanted to share them with the world, and in 1997 Green People was born.

Natural Ingredients

It was those misleading claims of ‘natural’ formulas from other beauty brands that drove Charlotte to creating a range of products that are actually made with 100% natural ingredients, so when you use skin care, body care or hair care products from Green People you can be safe in the knowledge that they are completely free from chemical ingredients. Charlotte even approached the Soil Association to encourage the organisation to create standards for organic healthy and beauty products, and she helped to design these standards! Green People make a promise to their customers to never use harsh or synthetic chemicals like parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), petrochemcials, alcohol, phthalates or synthetic fragrances or colourants in any product they make.

Cruelty-Free

Green People is completely opposed to animal testing. The company values rest heavily on a respect for the world around us and all living things, so no ingredient or finished product will ever be tested on animals, ensuring their ingredients are sourced from trusted manufacturers. You’ll also find that every product in the Green People range is suitable for vegans, with a majority certified by The Vegan Society.

Minimal Environmental Impact

The choice to use organic ingredients wasn’t a difficult decision for Green People, not only are they better for you and your skin, they are much better for the environment. Traditional non-organic farming methods can greatly damage the land, destroying the soil so it eventually becomes unusable, and threatening the local wildlife. Organic farming does not use any chemical pesticides or fertilisers, so there is no harm done to the planet and there is no chance of chemical residues being absorbed by your skin.

My personal favourite product from Green People is the Gentle Cleanser & Make Up Remover, have you tried it or anything else from Green People’s range? Let us know your thoughts!
