Fairtrade Labelled

The Fairtrade Mark is a consumer label that certifies that a product meets Fairtrade standards, set by The Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO). The Fairtrade Mark offers a way to buy products in harmony with the producers and in confidence that a fair price has been paid for the goods. In addition to a fair price for the goods, the Fairtrade mark also guarantees a premium beyond the minimum price, allowing producers to cover the costs of production and to plough money back into their communities in the form of social, economic or environmental projects.

Currently, there are Fairtrade Standards for 18 different product categories, from fresh and dried fruit and vegetables, to nuts, coffee, cocoa, cotton, tea, sugar and more. Often due to overwhelming applications, there are not yet Fairtrade standards in place for certain product groups, but there are other fair trade organisations who are passionate about trade justice.
