Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Crème is the perfect nourishment for tired hands.
How it Works
This super rich natural hand cream is perfect for a daily indulgence. Sunflower oil and glycerin are infused with the all-natural goodness of shea butter and essential botanical oils like macadamia nut, rosehip, lavender, neroli and borage, that impart antioxidants and fatty acids to nourish your skin, nails and cuticles.
How to Use It
Smooth a small dollop of the cream onto your hands after every hand washing. For a luxurious way to pamper and condition your skin, massage the cream into your hands, paying close attention to nails and cuticles, then, cover your hands with cotton gloves overnight to soothe and seal in moisture.
Key Features: Shea Butter:
This natural fat obtained from the fruit of the karite tree is a valuable, nourishing addition to moisturisers for the reduction of wrinkles and to improve the elasticity of the skin and protect it against environmental aging. Shea butter is known to increase local capillary circulation, which in turn increases tissue re-oxygenation.
The Burt’s Bees Story
It started in 1984 in Maine when Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz teamed up selling candles made from the beeswax created as a by-product of Burt's honey business. At the very first craft fair, they sold $200 worth, and by the end of the first year, sales climbed to $20,000. Their fine attention to detail was an integral part of their success
Word about their products soon reached New York, and in 1989, the hip Zona boutique ordered hundreds of their candles. Around this time, Roxanne happened upon a 19th century book of home-made personal care recipes and that's when the Burt's Bees we know and love now really began.
By 1991 they were making half a million candles a year, as well as natural soaps and perfumes cooked up on gas stoves. That's when they got the idea to add lip balm to their line-up and to this day, it is their best-selling product.
Today Burt’s Bees’ range has expanded into a respected brand recognised for its dedication to good quality natural products. Their range has expanded into face care, body care, hair care, lip care, men's grooming and more. Burt’s Bees has used some of its profits to buy tracts of forest land in northern Maine to preserve them from development. This purchase marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with The Nature Conservancy, which over the years, has helped conserve 185,000 acres of Maine forest land.
‘We remain committed to the environment with recycled and recyclable packaging and nature-safe manufacturing processes, and we're continuing the land preservation efforts we started in Maine. We're also helping out our fellow humans, too, with initiatives to provide sustainable housing for the less fortunate. It's all part of our dedication to The Greater Good, a set of standards for the products we make and the way we live.’
