Q: If I were to keep it on my sunny windowsill all the time and let it shine every night - how long would it continue to work before the battery became unable to charge up in the day any more. Can the battery and other inner parts be replaced?
A: The rechargable battery inside the Sunjar should last for approximately a year, depending on usage and the sunlight your Sunjar has been exposed to. The battery is easily replaceable with any other AA rechargable battery. There should be no need to replace other components.
I hope this helps, Jo.

Q: Does the Sun Jar work effectively in the winter? I have a windowsill location in mind but we haven't had any sun for the last few weeks! Will it still work? I would like a Sun Jar to light up before I get home from work so it looks like there's someone home when it's dark outside.
A: Hi, SUCK UK, the manufacturers of this product state that the Sun Jar needs direct sunlight to work efficiently, as household lights are not strong enough to provide charge. For improved results, however, the Sun Jar can be switched off whilst charging. When you would like it to glow you can switch the Sun Jar to the on position, overall conserving the battery life. Alternatively, if there is no sun at all, the batteries for the Sun Jar can also be charged in a normal battery charger.
I hope this helps. Robyn.
