\"frdlogo\"<\/a>From the 18th<\/sup> to the 24th<\/sup> of April it’s\u00a0Fashion Revolution Week and on the 24th<\/sup> it\u2019s Fashion Revolution Day. Do you know what Fashion Revolution<\/a> is? If not, let us tell you! Their aim is to raise awareness of the true cost of fashion, to make fashion a lot fairer and make sure the industry values people and the environment for a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

They encourage people to be curious about their clothes and find out who made them. They want everyone to contact actual fashion brands through social media using \u2018#whomademyclothes<\/a>\u2019. They also want people, alongside the hashtag, to post photos of the labels on their clothing – some people chose to do this by wearing their clothing inside out with the labels exposed. They want to get as many people involved as possible in as many countries as possible, so together we can make sure the fashion industry is used for good.<\/p>\n

So why was Fashion Revolution<\/a> created? On 24th<\/sup> of April 2013, 1,134 people were killed and over 2,500 were injured when the Rana Plaza complex in Bangladesh collapsed due to poor safety\u00a0practices. Fashion Revolution was then created, they believed too many people lost their lives in one factory that day, they decided to stand up and demand change.<\/p>\n

After this disaster they believed fashion should and can be made in a safer way. One where the employees and the environment are valued and respected, and the items being produced are still a brilliant quality.<\/p>\n
