I am using it as a birdbath in my front garden. It is excellent in most respects, however there is no rim on the bottom to seat it securely on the base ( though my previous one had the rim but it partly broke off from the dish after a few months) also the dishes that I previously bought 4 years and 2 years ago from The House of Bath cracked halfway across during icy weather and acquired a large chip at the edge of the pottery dish.
It is a very pretty birdbath which is why I have purchased multiple dishes for my original base.
