Vegan Nail Polish Ideal for Summer

Choosing a shade for my nails is a painstaking process, it’s probably more difficult than actually painting my nails! There are so many different brands, and then they each have so many different colours and finishes – how can you decide? Well, the first decision should probably be an ethical nail polish, and would you believe it we have some great ones for sale, and a fantastic natural nail polish remover you’ll love.

You’ve probably already come across Pacifica on Natural Collection – we’ve stocked their natural vegan cosmetics for a while now. However, you may not have given their 7 Free Nail Polish a good look yet. It’s a vegan, cruelty free nail varnish that is free from the seven chemicals you will typically find in regular brands – parabens, phthalates (dibutyl phthalate), touene, xylene, camphor, formaldehyde and resin.

These are some potentially harmful chemicals, and experts aren’t yet quite sure what the long term effects of using them on our bodies are, and they are some of the biggest toxic offenders in our world today – so where you can it’s probably best to avoid them.

But what you really want are summer ready nails in beautiful, bright and eye catching colours so even in the dull British summer you will shine.

peachPeach is the colour everyone is wearing this summer, so try Pacifica’s Blushing Bunnies colour on your nails. It flatters all skin tones and is nice subtle colour appropriate for all occasions.

dark desert If you’re not a pink fan but still want a more natural colour for everyday wear this summer try Dark Desert Highway. It’s a lovely shade of brown that gives your nails a clean, finished look and will go with almost any outfit.

driftAnother favourite shade is Drift, an elegant lilac-grey that looks great with a casual outfit like this Braintree (now Thought) Bjork Skirt, whilst also appropriate for a more formal affair paired with the Adele Dress from Nancy Dee.

purple hazeYet another nail colour I simply adore! Purple Haze is a lovely dark lilac colour that perfectly picks out the purple flowers in the Amelie Dress by Braintree.

Nail Polish Removal

You might think this is all well and good using polishes free of harsh chemicals, but we have to remove the colours with acetone or petroleum-based removers that are harmful to skin, marine life, and cause our nails to become brittle? Well, not now – Suncoat bring us a fantastic Natural Nail Polish Remover which we can’t recommend highly enough. It’s naturally drawn from corn and soya farm crops, and most importantly is non-toxic, biodegradable and excludes petroleum ingredients. We couldn’t believe how quickly it removes colours, and without any dryness or damage to nails! Give it a try, you’ll love it.
