Milly & Sissy produce a range of unique powdered beauty products where you simply need to add water to activate them.
Milly & Sissy was founded by good friends Milly and Sissy who both have a passion for animals and the environment. Milly has had a career working in the health and beauty industry and has lived abroad in Asia and Europe. Sissy lives in the Midlands with her family and growing number of animals which includes sheep, guinea pigs, dogs, cats and horses. Combining their passion and talents they were able to create the Milly & Sissy brand. They are always looking for ways to improve our way of living that will have as minimal an impact on the environment as possible. They believe that every single person can make a difference based on the small changes that we can make to our lifestyles.
Their aim is to try and reduce our negative impact on the environment.
Most bathroom products contain at least 70% water which needs to be transported. Milly and Sissy products contain no water and therefore they have reduced their transport carbon footprint by 94%. Their powdered products which come in the form of shower creams, hand wash and shampoos are all packaged in fully compostable sachets.
To use the products simply pour the content of the sachet into a bottle, add tap water, shake, wait overnight and then shake again before use. Their sachets are made from paper and vegetable-based liner which helps keep the powder dry inside. They are also certified as biodegradable and compostable. Even better, their sachets can be put into a home compost bin if the labels are removed first! Depending on temperatures, the sachets can take any time from 45 days to 6 months to decompose.
All their products contain no animal – derived ingredients meaning they are suitable for vegans. All their range consists of 99.6% natural ingredients and are completely cruelty-free. They are also passionate about employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Milly and Sissy are passionate about zero waste and live by the idea of ‘use and refill’ and are here to help us all cut down on our plastic waste.
