Nancy Dee is a womenswear label created in 2008 by two sisters, passionate about the idea that responsible fashion can happen without effecting the quality or design. They have a very strong ethical philosophy which shines through in their gorgeous clothing.
So how does Nancy Dee manage responsible fashion? Well firstly they make sure their garment life cycle – all the way from beginning to end, from production to eventually being disposed – has the least impact on the environment as possible. They’re also designed and produced in the UK, reducing their carbon footprint, instead of manufacturing abroad. They can also nurture and encourage people to learn more specialist skills, and as they use small factories the communication is great as they can talk directly to the people who make the garments. They use the most eco-friendly and sustainable fabric they can – the Nancy Dee range is produced using natural and renewable sources such as organic cotton, soya and bamboo.
They try to minimise as much waste as possible, for example their patterns are designed to minimise fabric waste, they try to make their packaging recyclable and they recycle all of their paper and printing waste.
Nancy Dee’s style isn’t one-hit-wonder trend based, what you buy won’t go out of style a week after purchase. Their style focuses on fashion that will last, that can be worn for many different seasons, day to night, all year around. These vintage inspired items are made to last and to fit many of your wardrobe needs!
